Fruit salsas for summer
25 Jul 2010 at 1:39am
Fresh summer fruit is a sweet addition to a homemade salsa recipe, so take advantage of the season and make some homemade salsa.
Try this pictured apricot salsa recipe to start with, get tropical with a sweet mango and peach salsa or get creative with a unique pineapple salsa or even a mouth-watering strawberry orange salsa.
Though it's often paired with fatty fried chips, Mexican salsa is a healthy choice on it's own. Why not pair it with healthier homemade baked pita chips or baked crisped tortillas for a lower-fat snack? Or, use your homemade fruit salsa to top off a baked potato, to make a Mexican salad, or to fill a healthy vegetarian burrito. Pictured above, left: Homemade apricot salsa with beans
